Scorpios are known for their deep sensitivity. The Scorpios sensitivity derives from the fact that they are the sons and daughters of the water element, an element which associate with emotions. This sensitivity is expressed both in deep experience of extreme emotions and in strong spiritual intuitive abilities. From the water signs Scorpios are the most sensitive and temperamental. Each water sign can be described as a different water source: Cancer is like a sweet warm lake that allow many life forms to grow in it, Pisces is like a bobbling spring, replenishes and cool, and Scorpio is a water source that looks very quiet from top but in its depth it is very stormy and marshy; every once in awhile a vortex is bursting out “collecting its blood”. Scorpios are very secretive, personal people, they are very intuitive; they do not forgive easily and remember for a long time injustices that has been done to them. Like the story about the turtle and the scorpion (the scorpion who asked the turtle to help him crossing the river) they cannot help it but sting – even if it will kill them… scorpions has a venomous sting, in people of Scorpio the sting can be expressed through a cynical comment or bursting of anger.

The most difficult side of this sign derives from its two Rulers, Mars – god of war, and Pluto god of the underworld. Those are two very strong masculine gods with a difficult role. They are Scorpio’s source of power and they bring him to its typical totality and determination. Mars brings quite a few outbreaks and storms and Pluto cause these people to dive into the deepest abysses of emotion reaching compulsiveness and uncontrollable obsession, a tendency also caused by the infinite repetition typical to number 8…

Scorpio like the scorpion or the snake that sometimes represent him, is a very primal, basic instinctive sign. The spiritual role of Scorpio is to go through a journey of transformation and like Pluto rise from the underworld, change and replenish. Rather from the abyss to rise up, rather from the inability to control the basic urge and desires – to transcend up to enlightenment; and thus to turn from a snake to an eagle, like the two sacred animals of this sign which are implied in its hieroglyph…
