On February 15th, there will be a partial solar eclipse. But not as the last solar eclipse that was seen all over the USA, the coming eclipse will be seen by very few people. It will occur mainly above Antarctica.
Nevertheless – astrologically – a solar eclipse still has an effect upon us, which we can all feel and be aware of.
Here are a few words about solar eclipses and their significance:
Solar and Lunar Eclipses occur two times a year, at known times that are called “the eclipse season”. Twice a year there is a perfect alignment between the Sun, the Moon and Earth. The Lunar eclipse is due on the new moon of the eclipse season, and the solar eclipse – on the full moon. And although eclipses (both solar and lunar) happen twice a year, they are not always full eclipses. And each time they happen over another part of the world. So the opportunity to see a full or even a partial eclipse “above your head” is quite rare.
Astrological Speaking
The Solar Eclipse is the event of the two main and opposing astrological symbols colliding.
The Moon, that represents the imagination, intuition, childhood, past, our unaware sidea, femininity and much more – is covering the Sun, which represents our logic, aims, the adult side of our being, our masculine side and our consciousness.
It can be easily understood why people were afraid of this mysterious disappearance of the Sun in ancient times – it being a moment where logic and rules are not there and the strange ominous darkening of the skies at mid day.
But if we are in a personal-development process, and up for using the celestial events for advancement in our lives, we can see the bright side of this most special event:
During the time of the eclipse, and the two weeks that precede it, the imagination finally overcomes logic for a while,
Our soft and feminine side can take control over our masculine ambition,
The child inside overshadows the adult,
And past and future can finally meet in a place which is above linear time…
