Venus in conjunction to the Dragon’s Head

goal-729567Once a year, Venus, Planet of Love, conjuncts the karmic point of the chart, the True Node, which is also called in some cultures “the Dragon’s Head”. The True Node marks the possibility of escaping old paradigms, and changing things for the better, creating new possibilities in the world and  ourselves. On the personal level this annual conjunction allows changing emotional, mental and behavioral prints to do with our perception of love, relationships, femininity and beauty. But there is much more to this conjunction, on a global level.

Venus is one of the two planets that are located between us and the Sun. Due to its proximity to the Sun it will always appear to us in the skies close to the Sun. On some occasions Venus will be the bright star shining in the West at sunset, setting shortly after the Sun, and on the other occasions, as it is today, it will be the bright morning star, shining in the East just before dawn.

Due to Venus’s proximity to the Sun,  we usually do not pay much attention to the time of her conjunction to the True Node. And this is because its conjunction to the True Node happens shortly before or after the Sun’s conjunction to the True Node. And when the Sun conjuncts the True Node we have lunar and solar eclipses. These momentous occasions usually leave little room to notice that Venus as well, is aligned with the chart’s karmic point. But  this time Venus is at its furthest point away from the Sun, so the conjunction happens a few weeks after the eclipse season, allowing us to notice it – giving it attention, and feeling its influence in our lives.

The fact that Venus’s conjunction to the True Node usually goes un-noticed is very symbolic and is analogous to the still-problematic situation of women in the world today, as Venus represents, amongst other things, the feminine gender.

Venus is the only feminine planet in the astrological plain. All of the other celestial heroes are masculine. In the 70’s-80’s a few asteroids were named after feminine deities and made their way to the astrological chart, but these asteroids are ignored by most astrologers (not by me!), and anyhow – they are not planets, and they are not visible to the eye. Venus remains the only feminine light to brighten our nights.

Venus’s conjunction to the True Node,at  the karmic point of the chart, enables a special process us women can undertake during this very special time. This is a time to change our paradigms concerning love, femininity and even beauty. But more than that – it marks a special opportunity allowing the world to go through, taking  another step of development concerning the way women are perceived.

These days, in vast areas of the world women still lack the freedom to be that which they were meant to be. They lack the opportunity to shine and take their post in the global evolution that needs to take place.  Yes, they lack the basic human rights, and the ability to learn, and they are often treated as objects, and this is much more than just women’s rights. It has to do with the fact that due to this discrimination a large part of the population cannot take their needed part and function in these times, which demand change.

At this special time of the conjunction between the feminine representative, Venus, and the Dragon’s Head, there is an opportunity to take another  step towards breaking the glass ceiling to do with the place of women in this world, breaking old paradigms to do with femininity on a larger scale, and get closer to the possibilities for more ambassadors of light to do their work.
